DELAWARE COUNTY, OH (WCMH) – One person is dead after being hit by a car on Interstate 71 Saturday night.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says that Cody Ann Chrisman, 35, attempted to cross the northbound lanes of I-71 on foot after pulling her vehicle over in the berm on the right-hand side. Chrisman was struck by a vehicle driven by Joshua Lawhorn as she was attempting to cross the highway.

According to troopers, the Delaware County Coroner’s Office pronounced Chrisman dead at the scene.  The Ohio State Highway Patrol says that alcohol or drug use may have been a factor. The accident is still under investigation.What others are clicking on:
