MINNEAPOLIS, MN (WCMH)  — She was kidnapped from Colombia nearly four decade ago, so it was an emotional reunion when she found her birth mother after years of searching.

But just days after finding her birth mother, Marisa Bocanegra was killed in a crash.

On Thursday night, she and her new found birth mother were going to share their incredible story with her church, but, according to WCCO, Bocanegra was killed when a semi-truck struck her van on Tuesday.

Bocanegra’s teen daughter was also in the van at the time of the crash, but is in stable condition.

Bocanegra’s brother says he hopes their story helps others to search for their families and lost loved ones, and cherish every moment you get to spend with them.
