NASHVILLE, TN (WKRN) – A woman was killed early Monday morning after a driver crashed into her Bellevue home.

Police and medics responded to the residence General George Patton Road and Sawyer Brown Road at 1 a.m.

According to Metro police, the driver was headed south on Sawyer Brown Road when he lost control, hit a pole, crossed several yards and George Patton Road before driving into the victim’s home.

Investigators told News 2 the car went so far into the home; it almost went through a second condo.

The car tag is registered to a man who lives nearby, according to police.

Authorities used that information to track down the driver and his passenger, and took them into custody.

One of them was treated for minor injuries.

Investigators are still trying to determine what caused the driver to lose control and are waiting for the results of his toxicology test.

Officers have not identified the victim but did tell News 2 she was a mother.
