Woman killed while talking to 911 during apparent murder-suicide attempt

MACOMB TOWNSHIP, MI (WCMH) — Deputies in Macomb County, Michigan, said the 38-year-old woman was killed while calling 911 dispatchers to report a domestic dispute.

Deputies told WXYZ, the woman had been shot multiple times and her body was found close to her husband who was suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

According to investigators, the woman called 911 at about 1am to report a domestic dispute, when dispatchers heard several gun shots.

The woman’s 16-year-old son was home at the time of the shooting, but was not injured.

“It’s hard to comprehend what could have led to this, since he always appeared to be calm and even-tempered,” neighbor Benjamin Verga told WXYZ.

Police have not released the 911 calls yet, but said the husband is in custody at the hospital.
