JACKSONVILLE (WCMH)–The CEO and COO of the Wounded Warrior Project have been axed over controversies about spending.

According to its Facebook page, WWP “seeks to assist those men and women of our armed forces who have been severely injured during the conflicts in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other locations around the world.”
The WWP sent out a press release Thursday detailing findings of an independent review they conducted recently after a CBS News investigation raised questions about the charity’s spending.
Wounded Warrior Project says it is making some changes, and that “the organization would benefit from new leadership.”
