COLUMBUS (WCMH) – A man swinging a large pipe wrench is accused of robbing two west side gas stations Tuesday morning, and police say he was caught after hitting one of them twice.

The first robbery happened around 3am at the United Dairy Farmers at 530 South Hague Avenue. According to a police report, the suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The second robbery happened at the Mobil at 2635 West Broad Street. In that case, the suspect came into the store swinging a large silver pipe wrench, damaging the cash register, according to the police report.

He was last seen running from the store with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The third robbery happened at the same UDF as the first robbery. In that case, the wrench-wielding suspect told employees who were outside to go back in, where he demanded money from the register, according to a police report.

Once inside, the report says he assaulted a customer with the pipe wrench, striking him on the head.

After the customer was hit, four employees and customers fought with the suspect and held him down until police arrived.

Police arrested 22-year-old Dorian McKee and charged him with aggravated robbery. McKee is expected in court this morning. What others are clicking on:
