MADISON COUNTY, OH (WCMH) – A man is dead after a single-vehicle crash Monday night on the wrong side of the freeway.
According to the West Jefferson post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Wallace Ratliff, 62, of Springfield was driving east in the westbound lanes of Interstate 70 around 7:30pm Monday.
Troopers said Ratliff and his 1997 Ford Explorer went off the north side of the road and hit a pillar under an overpass near mile marker 73.
Ratliff was pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers said Ratliff was not wearing a seat belt.
