COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – The deadline to register to vote in next month’s presidential primary election is one week away.
The deadline for Ohioans to register to vote for March’s primary election is Feb. 20, according to the Secretary of State’s office. Residents can register online or by mailing a registration form to their county board of elections. County boards of elections will be open until 9 p.m. on Feb. 20.
To register, residents must provide the following information:
- Ohio driver’s license or Ohio identification card number
- Name
- Date of Birth
- Address
- Last four digits of your Social Security number
Voters can check their registration status on the Secretary of State’s voter search engine.
The March 19 primary will determine party representation in November’s presidential and U.S. Senate elections as well as other local offices determined by voting precinct. For example, Franklin County residents will see, depending on party registration, competitive races for Ohio State Representative in the 5th District and county prosecuting attorney.
Early in-person voting starts next Wednesday. Early voting hours for the primary are:
- February 21-23: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- February 26 – March 1: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- March 4-8: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- March 9: 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
- March 11: 7:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.
- March 12: 7:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.
- March 13-15: 7:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.
- March 16: 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
- March 17: 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.
