YOUNGSTOWN, OH (WKBN) – Two Youngstown State University football players were sentenced to probation for their part in shots fired on campus in May.

Casimier Mitchell appeared in Youngstown Municipal Court Monday, where he was sentenced to 18 months of probation and 150 hours of community service for discharging a firearm on prohibited premises and improper handling of a firearm. Another charge against him was dismissed.

Lee Wright was sentenced to one year of probation and 150 hours of community service for improper handling of a firearm.

Police said the men fired shots near a parking deck on campus. They then drove away laughing, according to police.

Both were receiving scholarships to play with YSU’s team.
