COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — In his first taste of college basketball, Africentric graduate Dailyn Swain is logging big minutes for Xavier. As a true freshman there has been a lot of growth through the season with much more to come once the offseason arrives.

The former standout high school player who led the Nubians to a state semifinal is averaging close to 19 minutes per game for the Musketeers and has appeared in all 26 games, including a couple starts.

“It’s great being able to be a part of a team in such a great conference under a great coach, and have the opportunity to contribute,” said Swain.

The Musketeers are 13-13 through 26 games and they have a young group coming off the bench.

Swain offers versatility as someone who can match up defensively on both guards and both forwards. He plans to become stronger in the offseason and develop a shot defenses will be forced to respect. One that can open the floor for the Xavier offense.

The Musketeers will play their next game Sunday against seventh ranked Marquette.
