COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — The Columbus Blue Jackets have acquired defenseman Daemon Hunt, as well as four other picks from the Minnesota Wild in exchange for David Jiricek.

Hunt, a native of Brandon, Manitoba, was previously selected by the Minnesota Wild in the 2020 NHL Draft. The Blue Jackets’ other selections included future 2025 first-round, 2026 third-round and fourth-round, and 2027 second-round picks yet to be named.

“Daemon is a very good, young defenseman and we are excited to welcome him to the Blue Jackets family,” said Don Waddell, club president of hockey operations and general manager. “The draft picks we’ve acquired provide us with valuable assets that we can use to improve our club moving forward.”

Waddell also thanked Jiricek for his contributions to the Blue Jackets team.
