COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – Hockey fans are getting ready for the NHL Stadium Series at Ohio Stadium.
The game is set for March 1 at 6 p.m. between the Blue Jackets and Detroit Red Wings, and there’s several events leading up to the puck drop. Below are some details on entertainment, pregame festivities and what you need to know before you go.
Pregame Fan Fest
Parking lots of The O on Lane and Riverwatch Tower from noon to 5 p.m.
- Before the game, the NHL is holding a free tailgate for fans. Enjoy family-friendly activities full of interactive hockey games, attractions, special appearances and even an opportunity to take a photo with the Stanley Cup.
Stadium Series Pep Rally
St. John Arena at 2:30 p.m.
- Rock band O.A.R. will headline the pep rally, along with The Ohio State University Athletic Band and the university’s Spirit team.
Live entertainment during game
- Twenty One Pilots will headline a performance during the first intermission.
- The OSU Athletic Band will perform again during the second intermission as well as through out the game.
Parking
- Parking lots open starting at 8 a.m. at Ohio Stadium.
- Gameday parking permits are also available for purchase.
Gates
- Gates to Ohio Stadium open two hours before puck drop, at 4 p.m.
Bag policy
- Bags or purses of any size are not allowed in Ohio Stadium, unless its a wallet or wristlet that is no larger than 5”x8”x1.”
- All people and items entering the stadium will be screened for security inspection.
Alcohol
- Sales for alcoholic beverages are offered inside Ohio Stadium.
- Alcohol sales will end at the start of the third period.
