COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Hockey fans attending the March 1 outdoor game between the Columbus Blue Jackets and Detroit Red Wings will be treated to a pre-game concert.
Rock band O.A.R. (Of a Revolution) will perform before the first period at the Stadium Series game at Ohio Stadium in Columbus. Multiple members of the band moved to central Ohio and are alumni of Ohio State.
O.A.R. will be one of two bands with Columbus ties performing during the game. Twenty One Pilots, who are based in Ohio’s capital, will also perform during an intermission. Tickets are on sale now at Ticketmaster. Ohio State students will have the opportunity to use their school email address to purchase discounted tickets, priced at $20.99, through Ohio State Account Manager.
Faceoff for the Blue Jackets’ first outdoor game will be 6 p.m. Both Columbus and Detroit are firmly in the wild card race and currently on long winning streaks. The Jackets search of their fifth straight win Tuesday when they host the Philadelphia Flyers at 7 p.m. At the same time, the Red Wings welcome the San Jose Sharks and search for their eighth straight victory.
