COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Over a dozen players instrumental in Ohio State’s national championship season are spending the weekend in Indianapolis to impress professional scouts.
Fifteen former Buckeyes players will participate in the NFL scouting combine from Thursday to Sunday in the hopes of raising their draft stocks. Each of these title-winning players are projected to hear their names called at the NFL draft from April 24 to 26 in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Many left a strong impression with their performances during the College Football Playoff but will have to keep that momentum going through drills, interviews and more. Here is what to know ahead of this week’s combine.
15 Buckeyes headed to the combine
Some of the top Ohio State players that gave fans lifelong memories will soon realize their lifelong dreams in the NFL. With 15 Buckeyes players headed to the combine, this year’s class could equal the record of players taken in a single draft from the same school (Georgia had 15 in 2022).
From quarterback Will Howard and running back TreVeyon Henderson to defensive stars Jack Sawyer and JT Tuimoloau, NFL scouts will likely have each Ohio State player as someone to watch. And it won’t just be for their talent but also for their knowledge on what it takes to win a championship.
Current projections have two or three Ohio State players being taken in the first round of the draft.

What drills will they do?
Over 300 former college football stars will take their skills to the test in a variety of drills at Lucas Oil Stadium. Although each player will partake in drills specific to their position, all prospects will do the typical drills fans have come to know.
Among the most known drills include the 40-yard dash, bench press and vertical jump. Players will also do a broad jump, cone drills and shuttle runs to test their athleticism, quickness, strength and awareness.
