COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — The first set of kickoff times for Ohio State’s football season have been announced.

Each of the Buckeyes’ three nonconference games now have start times and broadcast assignments. The defending national champions will open at Ohio Stadium against Texas at noon on Aug. 30 in a rematch of last year’s Cotton Bowl semifinal in what should be a top 10 meeting.

The start time comes after an Ohio lawmaker proposed a $10 million fine if any top 10 Ohio State home game started at noon.

The three-game nonconference homestand continues on Sept. 6 when Grambling State visits for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff.

Ohio State will then try to maintain its over 100-year winning streak against in-state opponents when Ohio visits on Sept. 13. That game will kickoff at 7 p.m. and be broadcast exclusively on Peacock, a streaming service owned by NBC and not NBC4’s parent company, Nexstar.

Unsurprisingly, the Buckeyes will play Michigan at noon on Nov. 29, keeping with the traditional start time for “The Game.” Ohio State aims to break a four-game losing streak against the Wolverines when they play in Ann Arbor.

Kickoff times for Ohio State’s remaining Big Ten games will be announced during the course of the season.

This season, Ohio State will look to join Georgia as the second team in the 2020s to win back-to-back national championships. This season’s 12-team College Football Playoff will be seeded on rankings, with conference champions no longer earning byes into the quarterfinals.
