COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — College football fans constantly debate how the best teams in the nation rank against each other and EA Sports has offered a possible answer.

EA announced multiple ratings for NCAA teams in its upcoming “College Football 25” video game, the first in the acclaimed series in 11 years. Ohio State is among the top teams in the game, but are they the best?

For CFB 25, the Buckeyes are rated as the second best overall team with a rating of 93 out of 99. Georgia is ranked as the top team with a 95 overall rating as a team. Ohio State’s defense is rated as the best in the game at 96 and No. 5 in offense at 89.

Among the other lists EA announced was the ‘toughest stadiums to play’ with Ohio Stadium ranked at No. 4. Texas A&M’s Kyle Field, Alabama’s Bryant-Denny Stadium, and LSU’s Tiger Stadium are in the top three.

After the release of “NCAA Football 14”, the NCAA announced it did not renew its license with EA Sports after legal disputes began piling up over creating avatars that mimicked college players without their consent. EA Sports is allowing college football players to have their likeness featured and will be compensated with Name, Image, and Likeness rule changes prompting this change.

The full game releases on PlayStation 5 and XBOX Series X on July 19.
