COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Ohio State linebacker Arvell Reese will be available for the entirety of Saturday’s game at Penn State after the Big Ten overturned the targeting penalty he received against Nebraska.

According to an OSU spokesperson, the Buckeyes filed an appeal to the conference on behalf of Reese’s action in the fourth quarter of Saturday’s game against the Cornhuskers. The Cleveland native was ejected after a long video review of the play in which Reese tackled wide receiver Jahmal Banks.

The penalty meant that Reese would have to miss the first half of this weekend’s contest against the Nittany Lions. The decision led to fans throwing water bottles on to the field, and coach Ryan Day received a sideline warning. The Buckeyes eventually won 21-17.

The Big Ten went to the NCAA Football Secretary Rules-Editor, who then determined after further review that the play was not targeting.

No. 4 Ohio State will meet No. 3 Penn State on Saturday with kickoff set for noon. This is the second top-five matchup for the Buckeyes in the span of a month.
