COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — The Buckeyes are still undefeated and ranked among the best women’s basketball teams in the nation.

Ohio State (14-0, 3-0) has moved up one spot to No. 9 in the Associated Press poll after securing its 14th straight win Sunday with a 30-point victory over Northwestern in Columbus. Conference play has started off strong for the Buckeyes but the toughest teams await them on the schedule.

Seven Big Ten teams are ranked in the AP poll with No. 1 UCLA and No. 4 USC leading the pack. The Buckeyes moved ahead of Oklahoma but sit behind conference foes Maryland in the top-ten.

Big Ten play resumes for the Buckeyes Wednesday when they play at No. 25 Michigan at 7 p.m. This will be just the second ranked team OSU has played thus far. After going to Ann Arbor, OSU will play its first intraconference game against new Big Ten members Oregon Sunday at 1 p.m. from the Schottenstein Center.

One of the biggest conference games of the season will take place Wednesday when No. 8 Maryland takes on No. 4 USC at 8:30 p.m. Sunday’s marquee matchup will be a top-five showdown in Columbia, South Carolina as the second-ranked Gamecocks host No. 5 Texas at 1 p.m.
