COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — We’ve seen all season how well Buckeye fans travel, especially during the playoffs, and you can always find at least a few fans in every corner of the country, including in enemy territory.

The Buckeye football team will head to Dallas, Texas in a few days time for the College Football Playoff semifinal at the Cotton Bowl against the Texas Longhorns. Ian Milefchik lives in Houston, but he’s a lifelong Ohio State fan. “I normally go to all postseason games, I go to bowl games and like I go to a few regular season games during the year. I actually went to the game in Eugene, Oregon earlier in the year,” said Milefchik.

He lives more than 3 hours away from Dallas but that’s nothing compared to the miles he has logged already this season. Milefchik is from Ohio but moved to Texas for work. He still makes time for the team as a season ticket holder. “I just feel like I’m obligated to, like I have to support them. So for me, it’s never really, never really a question,” he said.

He admits that a lot goes into being a dedicated fan from travel to ticket prices. “I mean it’s not a cheap hobby if you want to follow them around but it’s definitely worth it for me,” Milefchik said.

After seeing such a dominant performance by the Buckeyes in the Rose Bowl win over Oregon, Milefchik is feeling confident that Ohio State can take down the Longhorns. “If we can keep playing the way we did against Tennessee and Oregon, I don’t think there’s a team that can beat us. I would say we win by 14,” he said.

He is so confident in the Buckeyes that he already bought his plane ticket to Atlanta where the national championship will be played on Jan. 20. The winner of Friday’s Cotton Bowl semifinal will play the winner of Thursday’s Orange Bowl semifinal between Notre Dame and Penn State. Should Ohio State and Penn State win, it would clinch the Big Ten its second straight national champion.
