COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — After a 45-0 victory over Purdue, Ohio State hits the road for the last time in the regular season. The No. 2 Buckeyes will play Northwestern at Chicago’s Wrigley Field on Saturday, with kickoff set for noon.

“What we’ve done leading up to this point has nothing to do with what’s going on moving forward,” Day said. “It’s all about what we do moving forward.”

The Buckeyes earned their eighth win after Howard accounted for four touchdowns, including three passing. Receiver Jeremiah Smith broke multiple Ohio State records, surpassing Cris Carter for most touchdowns and most receptions by a freshman. And the defense posted its second shutout.

The Wildcats are coming off a bye week after defeating Purdue 26-20 in overtime on Nov. 2. Saturday will mark the first of two games Northwestern is playing at Wrigley Field this season. It played its previous five home games at a temporary lakeside stadium on campus while a new stadium is being constructed.

The game will mark Ohio State’s fourth straight noon kickoff and is part of a string of six consecutive noon contests to end the season.

“Whenever they tell us to play, we’re going to play,” Day said. “Doesn’t matter where it is. Could be at a baseball field. Could be 11 a.m. or it could be at night. Whenever it is, we’re going to put the football down and go play.”

While this will be the Buckeyes’ first time playing at Wrigley, it will be Ohio State’s sixth different Major League Baseball stadium. OSU played 11 times at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome against Minnesota, Jack Murphy Stadium against Brigham Young, Anaheim Stadium and Cleveland’s Municipal Stadium.

The opportunity to play at Wrigley on Saturday had Day nostalgic about his past baseball experiences.

“Growing up, going to Fenway Park and being around baseball. Seeing some of the great games played in that stadium. As I got older, I got to see the Cubs play in Wrigley,” Day said. “Just the surrounding area and the restaurants in the area, it’s just got a great vibe there.”

The Buckeyes generally do not do a walkthrough at the stadium the day before the game but because of the unique venue, Day said they will visit Wrigley on Friday.

“I’d like for them to see the makeup of it. I want them to see the turf. I want them to see where the infield is filled in with some of the sod,” Day said. “I’d like for them to see how we’re going to handle halftime. We’re going to be in the bullpen, not going up into the locker room. There’s just some different things that I’d like for them to see.”
