COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Ohio State men’s basketball’s time as a ranked team was short lived after suffering its first loss of the season.
One week after being ranked No. 21 in the nation, the Buckeyes (2-1) have dropped out of the Associated Press poll. The team lost Friday night to No. 23 Texas A&M 78-64 on the road in what was already the Buckeyes’ second game against a ranked opponent this season. Ohio State did receive 13 votes.
Among the biggest movers were now No. 6 Purdue and No. 9 Kentucky, who got season defining wins this past week. The Boilermakers defeated former No. 2 Alabama 87-78 on Friday while Kentucky facilitated its ten-place jump with a 77-72 win over former No. 6 Duke on Tuesday in Atlanta.
