NEW YORK (WCMH) — The Ohio State men’s tennis team secured its third ITA national indoor championship on Monday after coming back from behind to defeat second-seed TCU, 4-3, at the Philip & Cheryl Milstein Family Tennis Center in Manhattan.
Alexander Bernard tied the team final at 3-3 with a three-set win (6-4, 3-6, 6-3) over Horned Frogs’ Tomas Jirousek. Minutes later, Robert Cash secured the title for the Buckeyes with a three-set win over TCU’s Lui Maxted (6-7, 6-4, 6-3).
Ohio State defeated Alabama, Harvard and Virginia on the way to its seventh appearance in the final. The victory is Ohio State’s first men’s indoor national championship since 2019. The Buckeyes improve to 13-0 this season.
