COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — The Buckeyes are fast approaching postseason play and are hoping to enter it with a lengthy winning streak. OSU also hopes it stays near the top of the national rankings.

Ohio State (22-3, 13-1) has been ranked No. 2 in the latest Associated Press poll. It is the second consecutive week the Buckeyes sit at the No. 2 spot as they are only behind No. 1 South Carolina, who are now 26-0 this season.

Currently, the Buckeyes are on a 12-game winning streak and have yet to lose in 2024. The team played once last week with an 80-47 rout over Nebraska at home on Valentine’s Day. This week, OSU will play twice as they take on Penn State on the road on Thursday before a Sunday home match against Maryland.

Ohio State will end the regular season the following week when they host Michigan, the last team they lost to, on Feb. 28 and then play Caitlin Clark and Iowa on Mar. 3 before the Big Ten Tournament.

As things stand, the Buckeyes are in position to win the Big Ten regular season title and claim the No. 1 seed for the conference tournament. No. 4 Iowa and No. 14 Indiana are the only other teams who could claim first-place in the conference.
