COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Ohio State will make history and host a playoff game in Columbus and fans now have a date on when they can buy tickets.

The Buckeyes qualified for the first 12-team College Football Playoff and will host Tennessee at Ohio Stadium at 8 p.m. Eastern under the lights on Dec. 21 in the first round, marking the first time the program will have a home game in December. Scarlet & Gray and Volunteer football fans looking to buy tickets won’t have to wait too long.

General admission ticket sales for the playoff game will start on Thursday at 10 a.m. EST and will start at a price of $100. Pricing for Ohio State students will be different to general admission. Follow this link to learn more ticket information.

Buckeyes season ticket holders have already received a notice about how to acquire tickets for the playoff game. A season ticket presale is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. EST Wednesday; 3,500 tickets have been allotted for Tennessee, per an Ohio State spokesperson.

Ohio State was awarded the eight-seed in the playoff bracket, giving them the final at-large spot that earns hosting rights for the first round. Tennessee will look to continue a decade-long streak for the Buckeyes, who haven’t beaten an SEC team in a postseason game since 2014. The winner of the Dec. 21 contest will play top-seed Oregon in the Rose Bowl on Jan. 1 at 5 p.m.

The 2024-25 College Football Playoff begins on Dec. 20 when Notre Dame hosts in-state rivals Indiana in South Bend.
