Where you can see Ohio State’s national championship trophy

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Buckeyes fans across central Ohio can bask in the glow of Ohio State’s national championship by seeing the trophy the team lifted in Atlanta.

The Scarlet & Gray claimed its ninth national championship Monday with a 34-23 win over Notre Dame to conclude the first 12-team playoff. Students stormed the field at Ohio Stadium in frigid weather right after the final whistle while the team celebrated with fans at their practice facility Tuesday afternoon.


Celebrations will continue across central Ohio this week as fans can see the 24-karat gold plated national championship trophy at multiple supermarkets in the area.

Fans on Thursday will have two chances to see the trophy, starting at the Meijer on 100 Polaris Parkway in Westerville from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. From 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, the trophy will be at the Giant Eagle on 840 West 3rd Avenue near Ohio State’s campus.

The playoff trophy will be at the Kroger on 12116 Sycamore Trace Friday in Plain City from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

An official championship celebration is scheduled Sunday at noon at the Horseshoe. The event and parking will be free.
