Crew unveil new ‘Goosebumps’ black jersey with spooky inspiration

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — The Columbus Crew revealed its new black jerseys that are inspired by a spooky book series written by a central Ohio native.
The new road jerseys, titled the “Goosebumps kit”, divert from the traditional gold accents on previous Crew black jerseys for a more neon, glow-in-the-dark yellow with slime seeping through the jersey. The inspiration comes from the “Goosebumps” book series, written by Bexley-native and Ohio State graduate R.L. Stine.
This also marks the first Crew jersey to have the three stars representing MLS Cup titles all in one line. MLS rules have defending champions have a larger silver star above any others already on the club crest.

Crew said this is the first UV-activated kit in MLS history with the slime activating under UV lights. As is typically the case, the “Goosebumps” kit will be worn for the 2025 and 2026 seasons. The gold home jersey unveiled last year will be worn this season before a new gold kit is revealed for 2026.
