COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Promoting his role as Bob Dylan in “A Complete Unknown” in Germany, actor Timothee Chalamet arrived Friday at the Berlin Film Festival with a distinctly Columbus look.
Chalamet wore a yellow-and-black striped hooded jacket that contained the original 1990s logo of the Columbus Crew, with its three hard hat-wearing men. Nominated for a best actor Oscar, Chalamet posed for photos and answered questions while wearing Crew gear.
“I love this movie so much, I would do [press] for a year,” he told Variety.

Although apparently none of the reporters noticed the jacket and asked him, how does it feel?
The Columbus Crew is considered the first franchise in Major League Soccer, established in 1996.
Initially calling itself “America’s Hardest Working Team,” the Crew played its early games at Ohio Stadium before moving in 1999 to what is known now as Historic Crew Stadium, next to the Ohio Expo Center. The team won two MLS Cups while playing there, in 2008 and 2020.
The original logo was retired in 2014 after new ownership took over, and then changed again to its current look in 2021 after local leaders and MLS officials orchestrated a sale to a group led by the Haslam family, owners of the NFL’s Cleveland Browns, to keep the team from leaving Columbus.
The Crew moved to Lower.com Field in the Arena District in 2021 and won its third MLS Cup in 2023.
Chalamet’s interest in the Crew isn’t known, no matter how good he made the original logo look.
In response, a spokesperson for the Crew said, “He’s welcome to come to a game anytime!”
