COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — NBC4 will be the viewing home to numerous NFL regular season games in 2025 and the first has been confirmed.
The NFL confirmed on Monday that the Sept. 4 season opener will be an NFC East matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles from Lincoln Financial Field. Kickoff is set for 8:20 p.m.
The Eagles aim to become the second team in the 2020s to win back-to-back Super Bowls with quarterback Jalen Hurts and running back Saquon Barkley leading the offense once again. Philadelphia also continues to boast one of the best defenses in the NFL with defensive end Jalen Carter and safety Cooper DeJean.
A disappointing 2024 season for the Cowboys was highlighted by the injury to quarterback Dak Prescott in the back half of the year. He will make his return with a new-look offense featuring receiver George Pickens and running back Javonte Williams.
Since 2006, NBC4 has been the exclusive home of Sunday Night Football and will be again in the 2025 season. Special NFL telecasts on NBC4 include a Thanksgiving Day primetime game and two playoff games but the biggest will be on Feb. 8, 2026.
This season, Super Bowl LX from Santa Clara, California will be broadcast on NBC4. Super Bowl Sunday on NBC4 will be preceded by live coverage of day two of the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan, Italy.
Two other matchups are scheduled to be revealed on Monday. The full NFL schedule will be announced on Wednesday at 8 p.m.
