COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – The Cincinnati Bengals are hanging on by a thread and the Browns keep giving games away. Here’s a look into their respective Week 15 matchups.

Cincinnati Bengals (5-8) at Tennessee Titans (3-10)

Sunday, Dec. 15 at Nissan Stadium, 1 p.m.

After a win against the Dallas Cowboys, the Cincinnati Bengals have a three percent chance of qualifying for the postseason and the team beings a stretch run of games against the Tennessee Titans, who allow opposing teams to score on nearly two-thirds of their red zone trips. The Bengals offense should flat out feast, followed by a little scoreboard watching.

Here is the current postseason breakdown for the Bengals. It’s messy, but not impossible….

Cincinnati’s easiest path to the playoffs, for lack of a better phrase, is to win out, with Denver (8-5) losing three of four, including its game at Cincinnati on Dec. 29. As well, the Colts (6-7) and Dolphins (6-7) would need to lose two of their remaining four games.

This scenario isn’t as far fetched as it pertains to the Bengals, whose next two opponents have a combined record of 6-20. A three-game winning streak heading into a home game with Denver would make the holiday week entertaining. The Broncos’ schedule outside of the Bengals, includes teams that all have at least six wins – Indianapolis, LA Chargers, and Kansas City.

It is still possible, however, that the Bengals could win three games and qualify, but they would need the Broncos all of their remaining games, with the Colts losing three (but not against Denver) and the Dolphins losing three of four. The Bengals lose a tiebreaker scenario to both the Colts and Dolphins due to conference record.

Miami’s schedule consists of three road games – at Houston, home versus San Francisco, then at Cleveland at the N.Y. Jets.

Indianapolis travels to Denver this week, a must win for the Colts, followed by Tennessee, at N.Y. Giants, and Jacksonville.

Line: 4 ½. O/U: 46 ½.

Prediction: Bengals regain form against the anemic Titans, 34-13.

Kansas City Chiefs (12-1) at Cleveland Browns (3-10)

Sunday, Dec. 15 at Huntington Bank Field, 1 p.m.

The Kansas City Chiefs are not invincible. The team is miraculously 10-0 in games decided by one score and has escaped late-game heroics by their opponents several times this season.

Guided by discipline, the Chiefs remain a Super Bowl contender by merely not screwing up in late-game situations, as opposed to thriving in them as in year’s past. The same cannot be said for the Browns, who are perhaps the most exciting 3-10 team in the league.

Jameis Winston has infused a much-needed boost of leadership and offensive spark lacking for the Browns since they coughed up $230 million – fully guaranteed – to Deshaun Watson. Seemingly free from the burden of Watson, contract notwithstanding, the humble Winston has the team buying in to commitment and pride in the face of week-in-and-week-out adversity.

Some of that adversity, unfortunately, has been self-inflicted by Winston himself. Five interceptions over the last two weeks and nine in the past five has the Browns losing by multiple scores in four of those games, games that would be much tighter if not for the dreaded picks. Special shout out to Kadarius Toney and his unsportsmanlike conduct and fumbled punt on consecutive returns in the second half.

All this plays right into the hands of the Chiefs, who while not blowing anyone away – Kansas City has won its last four games by a combined nine points – has a +2-turnover ratio during that same timeframe.

Line: Chiefs 4 ½. O/U: 43 ½.

Prediction: Turnovers are the gift that keeps on giving during the holiday season. Chiefs 27-17.
