HOUSTON, Texas (WCMH) — Central Ohio will be represented on Tuesday when the nation’s best high school basketball players take the floor in the annual McDonald’s All American games.

Pickerington Central senior Berry Wallace will play for the East team in her first game since the Tigers played in the state semifinals on March 15. Of the 48 total players participating (24 girls and 24 boys), she’s the only player from Ohio taking part in the games, which will be played at the Toyota Center, home to the NBA’s Houston Rockets.

“Yeah it’s been a super fun week so far just getting to practice with all these great players and competing at such a high level. It’s been a good time,” Wallace said.

Wallace is set to play for Illinois next season after an illustrious career at Pickerington Central, averaging 17.1 points per game her senior season. A number of players on the girls roster have committed to play for Big Ten programs, including Olivia Olson and Syla Swords for Michigan and Jaloni Cambridge for Ohio State.

The McDonald’s All-American game will offer a preview of what’s to come in the future of Big Ten women’s basketball.

“It’s been great getting to play with all of them,” Wallace said. “I’m super excited to see them in the future. I’m super excited for where the Big Ten is going. Just getting to see all these great players committing in the Big Ten. And the new teams being added too. And it’s just going to allow us all to get better. We’re here pushing each other and then we’ll be able to add to the conference next year too.”

The girls game will tip-off at 6:30 p.m. with the boys following at 9 p.m. Both will be televised on ESPN2.
