More tariffs are in effect now, raising the price of wood products and furniture. Carlie Boos with the Affordable Housing Alliance of Central Ohio said the tariffs will likely result in a $9,000 increase in the sale price of a home, or about $80 a month more on a mortgage. With materials to build housing jumping in price, local housing developers said there may be a decline in builds, something central Ohio is already behind on.
