More tariffs are in effect now, raising the price of wood products and furniture. Carlie Boos with the Affordable Housing Alliance of Central Ohio said the tariffs will likely result in a $9,000 increase in the sale price of a home, or about $80 a month more on a mortgage. With materials to build housing jumping in price, local housing developers said there may be a decline in builds, something central Ohio is already behind on.

City and county leaders are coming together to try and stop domestic violence, which has been a bigger issue in Columbus in recent years.

The Ohio Redistricting Commission convened Tuesday morning at the Statehouse, tasked with passing a new congressional district map by Oct. 31.

Violence numbers in Columbus are down this year. Community members and city leaders hope they keep going in that direction. According to data from the Columbus Division of Police, there have been 64 homicides so far this year. That's down from 96 at the same time last year.
