COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Law enforcement is searching for a man wanted for shooting a person for a cell phone and threatening a woman’s life.

Columbus police and the U.S. Marshals Service for the Southern District of Ohio are looking for Mohamed Mohamed, 41. He is currently facing charges of aggravated burglary and aggravated robbery.

According to Franklin County court documents, Mohamed went to a woman’s house on the 4500 block of Hambrick Street on Columbus’ Far West Side on Dec. 26, 2024.

While at the house, Mohamed allegedly struck the woman in the face and threatened to kill her. The victim told investigators that Mohamed pushed her inside and pulled out a handgun and said, “I should kill you now.”

The victim then started screaming, prompting Mohamed to run out of the house.

But that’s not all investigators said happened at the apartment that day.

U.S. Marshal Michael Black said Mohamed shot a family member about a cell phone.

“What’s he going to do if he wants money or a car or wants to rob somebody’s house again,” Black said. “This is a violent fugitive that’s out there committing ridiculous crimes and we want to keep him from having the opportunity to do this again. So, we need tips, we need all the help can get to locate this individual.”
