COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — “See something, say something” is asked of the public by law enforcement officials, and this time, someone who knew a registered sex offender violated the terms of his release tipped off law enforcement.

Now, investigators are asking the public to help locate the suspect.

The man’s name is Jimmy Brown.

“Yeah, this individual that we’re looking for is a registered sex offender,” U.S. Marshal for the Southern District of Ohio Michael Black said. “We received an anonymous call that this sex offender has not registered as he’s required to do by law. So, now he’s on our radar, and along with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, we are looking for him, to identify his whereabouts and why he has not fulfilled his obligation by law to register his residence.”

Brown is 63 years old and investigators believe he is still in the Columbus area.

The complaint filed in Franklin County Municipal Court said that in January, the requirement to notify is because the most serious sexually oriented offense or child-victim-oriented offense was the basis of the registration.

“Obviously there’s some concerned citizens out there that know that he is in the area and reported that he has not fulfilled his obligation,” Black said.

Anyone with information on Brown’s whereabouts is asked to “say something” by reporting it to the U.S. Marshals Service by clicking here or calling 1-877-WANTED-2.
