More rain & cool temps for Columbus area

Central Ohio Weather and Radar

QUICK WEATHER FORECAST:

FORECAST DISCUSSION:

Good Tuesday Evening,

It has been a cool and wet day today, with the warm front to the south of our area, and temps only climbing back to the lower 60s so far today. The warm front is trying to lift into our area this evening, but should not allow for a huge warm-up this evening. Temps will basically hold steady this evening, with temps only easing back to the upper 50s with showers.

Wednesday should be a bit drier early, but then showers will pop back up as a low tracks through the region. We will see a bit of a bump in temps on Wednesday, as temps will push into the upper 60s during the early afternoon hours as showers and some storms return to the area. Expect the low to be departing on Thursday, but we will be on the backside, with a chilly north breeze, and highs only in the upper 50s with rain showers.

The best chance of rain showers will be in the first half of the day, with showers tapering down later in the day. What is interesting to note, is with less coverage on Thursday, the afternoon we could have a stray rumble or two, and with low freezing levels, it is possible we could have a bit of small hail with any storm that pops. They will remain non-severe however.

Friday, there is a slight chance of showers, with the best chance east, otherwise, it will be a chilly day, and mostly cloudy day with highs in the lower 60s. We will be just north of the storm track for the upcoming weekend, which will keep rain showers just to our south. Expect temps to regulate a bit on Saturday into the middle 60s. We will climb to the upper 60s under partly cloudy skies on Sunday.

Expect clouds to increase for Memorial Day Monday, with showers approaching from the southwest, highs will be into the upper 60s to near 70, still a half dozen below normal. Showers will move in overnight Monday and into Tuesday once again, with temps a bit more seasonal, but not there yet, with highs around 70.
