FORECAST DISCUSSION:
Good Thursday morning!
A low pressure center in the Great Lakes is keeping rain chances steady in Central Ohio once again. However, there is an end in sight as we head closer to the Memorial Day weekend.
Showers will continue to push down from the north as we go into the afternoon. Rainfall will remain fairly light to moderate and showers look scattered towards the second half of today. Some isolated pockets of rain by the evening could produce more steady rainfall.
Winds remain on the stronger side today. Gusts will push above 20 miles per hour today with wind speeds in the mid teens. Temperatures struggle to get warmer today. Most of Central Ohio will remain in the 50s with a few areas closer to the Ohio River making it to 60 degrees.
Friday starts to see some recovery. Temperatures are back above 60 degrees and skies are a little drier. Clouds remain fairly steady with a couple breaks of sunshine moving in. There are still one or two lingering showers trying to work in, but overall the day looks much drier.
Heading into the Memorial Day weekend, we are looking at the recovery trend picking up a little more. Sunshine and the mid 60s arrives for Saturday. We’re just shy of 70 for Sunday, but clouds build back in as the day goes on. Memorial Day will see a few isolated showers with temperatures still in the upper 60s.
Towards the middle of next week and as the Memorial Tournament begins, temperatures will climb back above 70 degrees. Chances for rain are higher on Tuesday. A few showers are still hanging tight into next Wednesday.
