High pressure is providing a northerly flow of cool air into the region through the holiday weekend, with temperatures only reaching the mid-60s, about 10 degrees below normal. Clouds will increase late tonight, with morning readings in the mid- to upper 40s.
Skies will turn cloudy on Sunday, along with a few sprinkles possible in the afternoon with the passage of an upper-level disturbance.
Sunshine returns on Memorial Day, and temperatures will edge up to the low 70s. A storm system southwest of the region will push northward early next week, drawing moisture from the Gulf.
Rain will develop on Tuesday and persist through Wednesday, accompanied by a few rumbles of thunder.
The weather will stay fairly cloudy for the start of the Memorial Tournament Thursday and Friday, along with a chance for a few showers. Temperatures will still be a bit on the cool side, in the low 70s.
