FORECAST DISCUSSION:

Good Monday Evening,

It has been a nice, but cool start to the work week, with temps running about 5 degrees below normal this afternoon. Expect clouds to increase later tonight with lows dropping to around 50. The big weather system will pass generally to our south the next few days, but the warm front will be close enough to our area, that there is a small risk for a couple of stronger storms on Tuesday mainly in the far southwest to southern part of the state.

Expect clouds to increase Tuesday morning, with showers by midday and into the afternoon on and off. The threat for storms will be later in the day on Tuesday with highs remaining in the middle 60s. Expect more rain showers & non-severe storms on Wednesday with highs in the middle to upper 60s.

Thursday we will have this system moving off to the east, so showers will be around at least in the first half of the day, with mainly cloudy skies, and temps struggling to get back to 60 during the afternoon. An upper low will swing down into the area by late Thursday into the upcoming holiday weekend. This will keep us cool and wet, with showers possible on Friday and highs again near 60 only.

The upper low will start to weaken through the weekend, allowing some sunshine to return at times over the weekend, but isolated rain chances will have to be monitored with this. Not expecting a severe threat with this, but it is likely it will be breezy to windy at times Wednesday into the early weekend. Also, with colder air in place, it is possible that any showers that do build a bit, especially on Friday, could have a little bit of small hail.

Temps will recover a bit this weekend into the middle to upper 60s. Another system will approach on Memorial Day Monday with highs in the upper 60s and showers later in the day.
