FORECAST DISCUSSION:
Good Friday morning!
While it’s not a foggy start to the day, we are watching showers building back into the area as May draws to a close. We’re tracking one final round of wet weather before we settle into a pattern of nicer weather for the beginning of June.
A low pressure center to our south will slide a cluster of showers into the area throughout the morning hours. Heavier showers will be likely closer to the Ohio River with rain reaching up to I-70. Showers will remain consistent up to the afternoon hours.
For the second half of today, rain chances peel back to a more on and off chance. Scattered to isolated showers continue through the afternoon and evening. A few showers could develop into a handful of thunderstorms towards the end of today.
After a few chances for showers in the early morning hours of Saturday, we’ll trend a little drier for the daylight hours of tomorrow. Skies will gradually clear out, still mixing with some clouds throughout the day. A steady breeze coming out of the north will make it a little gusty at times.
Temperatures lift back above 70 degrees for the weekend stretch. Going into June, skies open up even more to give us more sunshine for Sunday. The temperatures continue to build up as the new month begins. We’re touching 80 degrees next Monday, still with sunny skies.
We’re climbing to the mid 80s by Tuesday & Wednesday. However, the stretch of dry and sunny weather will be coming to a close. A few late pop-up showers and storms on Wednesday will turn into steadier chances for rain and storms going into Thursday.
