Showers returning for final stretch of May, how early June is shaping up

FORECAST DISCUSSION:

Good Tuesday morning!

Skies certainly aren’t as nice as they were over the Memorial Day weekend. We’re starting off with cloudy, but dry skies. However, the second half of the day will carry steadier chances for rain.

A system down to our south is building showers over the lower Ohio River Valley. As the day goes on, it will lift northward and gradually push rain into the area. We have better chances for scattered showers moving in for the afternoon and evening.

Rain begins to taper after tonight, but a few isolated showers will still try to push in for tomorrow afternoon. Temperatures take a solid dip for Tuesday – sitting in the mid 60s. But, beginning on Wednesday, a warming trend will lift us to the mid 70s by the end of the week.

Another round of spotty rain moves in for Friday into Saturday. The beginning of June will see sunshine start to work in. We keep the sunny skies into the beginning of next week with temperatures lifting back into the 80s for the first time in roughly 2 weeks.
