FORECAST DISCUSSION:

Good Tuesday Evening,

It has been a warm and hazy day with smoke aloft in our area. We will see a much warmer night tonight with lows only dropping into the upper 60s. Wednesday we will still have some smoke around aloft, with mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies. A slow moving front will approach our area, and bring showers and storms in the northwest part of the state later in the day.

Wednesday night, we will see that very slow moving boundary sagging south, and slowly increasing rain chances across our area as we move into the day on Thursday. Thursday we are going to see that slow moving boundary draped across our area. This will bring rain and storm chances on and off through the day. Temps will still stay slightly above normal in the lower 80s. We will see more rain and storm chances on Friday with highs near normal in the upper 70s.

Both days we will have the potential for spots with moderate to heavy rains, due to saturated airmass, and slow moving showers, especially those training (following the same tracks) in our area. Humidity will stay high, keeping overnight lows well above normal. Waves of energy will move along the boundary Friday & into Saturday as well, with at least rain chances with some storms through the first half of the day on Saturday.

The bulk of the thunderstorms will have the risk of heavy rain and lightning, but its possible we could have a few stronger storms as well, something we will have to watch for. Saturday’s highs will be near normal in the upper 70s. Expect a bit of drier air to move in overnight Saturday night into Sunday, with highs in the upper 70s on Sunday. More rain comes back up into our area next week with rain chances Monday & early Tuesday with highs in the mid to upper 70s.
