FORECAST DISCUSSION:
Good Wednesday morning!
It’s already a pretty warm start to the day for most of Central Ohio! Towards the end of today, we could potentially be looking at the warmest day of 2025 so far. However, a steady cooldown will work its way in shortly after.
Sunshine and steady winds out of the south will help push the thermometer well above normal numbers for this time of the year. Most of Central Ohio will push well into the mid to upper 80s. Some areas will land just shy of 90 degrees. The last time we saw this kind of heat was last September.
Skies will continue to look hazy from wildfire smoke from Canada. Near-surface smoke will continue to build into the area throughout the day, keeping air quality away from healthier levels. If you are more sensitive to the lower air quality, try to limit exposure throughout the day.
Relief comes from the heat and haze through a few rounds of showers & storms by the end of the week. Steady chances for wet and stormy weather build throughout Thursday. Chances remain steady through the overnight hours and into Friday.
After a few more showers and isolated storms on Saturday, the remainder of the weekend will see skies improve. We’re looking at a mix of sunshine and clouds for Sunday. Temperatures over the weekend remain in the upper 70s.
We’re still trying to work closer to 80 degrees for the start of next week. Another round of storms returns later on Monday and lingers into the start of next Tuesdsay.
