Columbus (WCMH) – We finally did it this morning! Today was the official first freeze of the season for Columbus ending our late season streak.Today was the 11th latest first freeze on record here:
There have been only 10 other dates later for a first freeze since records have been kept (1878). The latest first freeze ever was November 27th, 1902.

This was our 2nd latest first freeze since 1957, and the 3rd latest at John Glenn Columbus International (Port Columbus Airport):
Columbus official data started to be recorded in 1948 at the airport. Since that time, today was the 3rd latest first freeze, the majority of the other later first freezes all occurred when the data was recorded in the city.
