October recap… warm & dry

Columbus (WCMH) – November started on a record note here in Columbus, tying a record at 80°.  It wasn’t that long ago that we hit another record high… two weeks ago to the date.

October was also our 2nd warmest month this year in terms of departure from normal.  At 4.2° above normal, it only trailed March at 6.6° above normalFor October 2016, we ended up being drier than normal:


Rainfall total 1.73″ (0.88″ below normal), and most of this rain fell on only 7 days

The great news is, we have had rain in the right places in the past month, and it has almost ended our “dry conditions”

Temperatures ran well above normal for the month of October:

It was a rather sunny month, which is good:

October was our 2nd largest departure from normal this year, and 5th month in a row above normal
