COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — The Jake Diebler show will get one more night at the Schottenstein Center this season as the Buckeyes will host Georgia in the quarterfinals of the National Invitational Tournament on Tuesday night. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. at Value City Arena.

OSU earned the right to host as the higher seed after the fourth-seeded Bulldogs upset Wake Forest in the second round of the NIT, 72-66. The Buckeyes, seeded second in the tournament, have yet to lose at home since Diebler took over head coaching duties in February.

Ohio State is coming off an 81-73 win over Virginia Tech in the NIT second round. Jamison Battle scored a game-high 21 points, including 17 from the free throw line.

Tuesday will mark the Buckeyes’ second-ever meeting against the Bulldogs and first since 1977. Georgia won the lone meeting between the two programs on December 28, 1977 when the Bulldogs defeated the Buckeyes in overtime, 84-80, in Louisville, Kentucky.

The winner of Tuesday’s game will advance to the NIT semifinals in Indianapolis.
