(NBC) — NBC’s trio of “Chicago” dramas return for new seasons Wednesday and welcome some new cast members.

Some returning stars shared about the new season and the “back to school” atmosphere. For cast members David Eigenberg, LaRoyce Hawkins and Jessy Schram of NBC’s “One Chicago” dramas “Fire,” “PD” and “Med” respectively, Wednesday is like the first day of school.

“New erasers, new pencils, I got a protractor this year,” joked Eigenberg.

“Did you get new clothes?” Schram asked Eigenberg.

“No same old clothes,” responded Eigenberg.

Hawkins said he campaigned to get his character Atwater new duds.

“If you don’t bother to disrupt the rhythm,” said Hawkins. “They will give you the same outfit.”

Then again, on “Chicago Med,” the scrubs don’t change that much.

“So, we can only basically, like request new shoes, I guess, and I didn’t even do that at all last season,” said Schram. “I had the same thing every single day.”

But change is coming with Wednesday’s new season.

“I got to visit the writer’s room last week and hearing what’s ahead it will be really interesting to see how they [script this season],” said Schram.

Sarah Ramos joins “Med” as one of the new doctors and at “Chicago Fire” Dermot Mulroney is the new guy in charge.

“And lucky for us, he’s a more evolved David Eigenberg,” said Joe Minoso of “Chicago Fire.”

And Eigenberg is good with a little change.

“You haven’t seen those same faces going on 13 seasons, “I’m like, ugh,” said Eigenberg putting his face in his hands to Schram who joined the cast of “Med” in 2020.

The “One Chicago” family, still holding strong for a new season.

NBC’s “Chicago” shows begin with “Med” at 8 p.m., “Fire” at 9 p.m. and “PD” at 10 p.m. on NBC4.
