COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — A Short North event venue is closing this spring after five years of business.

The Fig Room at 17 E. Brickel St. will permanently shutter on April 30, owner BTTS Events announced on Thursday. The Westerville-based event business opened the 3,500 square-foot venue in 2020, “at a moment in the industry when the company needed to offer a space that would be best fitted for smaller events.”

Since then, BTTS has acquired and remodeled Vue Columbus at 95 Liberty St., serving as another Downtown-area location for intimate gatherings like baby showers, birthday parties and other occasions.

“We are so proud of the incredible events and celebrations we’ve hosted at The Fig Room,” said John Brooks, BTTS managing partner. “We’re excited to continue to host events large and small for clients at all our locations, especially Vue Columbus that has multiple versatile spaces.”

The Fig Room marked BTTS’ fourth venue when it launched in 2020. Along with Vue Columbus, the company has ballooned to seven other locations, including Brookshire in Lewis Center, The Ellis in Italian Village, The Estate in New Albany, Lakeview at WatersEdge in Hilliard, The Cove also at WatersEdge in Hilliard, and Darby House in Galloway.

“We’re committed to carrying on the legacy of The Fig Room by providing exceptional experiences for years to come,” said Rachel Hellerman, BTTS executive director of event sales.
