OHSAA announces 2024 all-Ohio football teams

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — With the end of the 2024 season, the OHSAA is revealing its all-Ohio football teams this week across the state’s seven divisions.

A number of Central Ohio athletes made the list after making deep runs in the postseason with their respective teams.


In Division IV, Bishop Ready’s Conlan Dent, Marion-Franklin’s Taliq Black and Logan Elm’s Bryce Perkins earned spots on the first team defense. East quarterback Aaron Britford made the second team offense along with Ready running back Anthony Campell and Marion-Franklin tailback Dawayne Golloway.

Ready’s Kasen Abbott was named to the third team offense while Marion-Franklin’s Montayvon Robinson and Jonathan Alder’s Grant Horne achieved third team defense honors. Logan Elm’s Aaron Walters, Michael Bock and Gavin Hoover, East high school’s Tay Jon Royster, Xavier Hunter and Marsean Bowles, Jonathan Alder’s Zach Gantz, Ready’s Evan Montgomery and Eastmoor punter Taylor Vivens were honorable mentions.

In Division V, Columbus Academy quarterback Cole Spaulding headlines the picks from Central Ohio. Joining him on the first team offense are Africentric’s Caleb Anthony and Harvest Prep’s Eechiel Teshome. On the first team defense, Harvest Prep’s Dezmond Porter and Jamarcus Jones earned spots.

The Division V second team offense includes Africentric’s Derron Gray, Jr. and Worthington Christian’s Cam Robinson, while the defense includes Columbus Academy’s MJ Jackson, Harvest Prep’s Shavez Watkins and Columbus Academy’s Gabe Davis-Ray. The division’s third team includes Africentric’s Joshua Smith and Chase Johnson and Harvest Prep’s Marquez Colvin.

In Division VI, Grandview Heights running back Henry Ohlinger made the first team offense while his teammate Braddock Lusher is on the first team defense. Juniors Cooper Bauer and Owen Nugent earned second team defense honors. Offensive lineman Danny Main was named to the third team offense. Grove City Christian’s Cayden Carroll (second team offense), Landen Sams (second team defense) and Jaden Patterson (third team offense) also earned all-Ohio honors.

Danville’s Aidan Burke headlined the Division VII all-Ohio selections, earning a spot on the first team offense. His teammate, senior linebacker Josh Byers, was named to the first team defense squad. Blue Devils offensive lineman Blake Colopy earned a spot on the second-team offense while defensive lineman Greg Wilson got second team defense honors.

Elsewhere in Division VII, Columbus Crusaders running back Ezekiel Bowie was a second team all-Ohio selection while defensive back Austin Bauer was named to the second team defense.

The all-Ohio teams for Divisions II and III will be released Wednesday while the Division I squad will be named on Thursday.
