COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – A suspect with a history of fleeing crime jurisdictions, who is wanted in the murder of two men in southeast Columbus, has been arrested in Detroit by federal marshals.
According to Columbus police, Abdou Seye, 33, was charged with two counts of murder Monday after being identified as one of two suspects accused of killing Antwan Lewis, 42, and Harold Forest III, 31.
The victims were found the afternoon of Feb. 26 in the 4100 block of Blakewell Lane West, just north of Groveport. Officers found Lewis dead at the scene, and Forest died shortly after at a hospital. Police have not released details of the shooting.
Two days later, Brandon Colbert, 32, was arrested and charged with two counts of murder. He was arraigned Monday in Franklin County Municipal Court and issued a $500,000 bond.
Agents with SOFAST, a U.S. Marshals Service task force that stands for the Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team, located Seye in Detroit, where detectives traveled for an interview. He was arrested and awaits extradition to Franklin County.
It is not the first time Seye has faced extradition to or from Ohio. In 2017, Seye was accused robbing one bank in Wheeling, West Virginia, on March 17; three in Evandale, Sharonville, and Montgomery, Ohio, between March 30 and April 29; and one in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, in May 2017.
Court documents out of the Southern District of Florida say Seye was arrested in July 2017 near Atlanta and extradited to Florida, where courts agreed to transfer their cases. He was sentenced to eight years in prison for an aggravated robbery out of Miami in June 2017.
Colbert, who was once a victim of a stabbing in 2016, has previously served five years in prison for aggravated robbery in 2016 and an additional 12 months in 2023 on a weapons charge.
